Kerala is a state that never fails to mesmerize us through its sheer beauty. The state is blessed with ample natural beauty and this beauty gets even more enhanced by the amazing and unique resorts of this region.
One such unique resort is the Banasura Hill Resort in Wayanad, Kerala. This resort is made with Mud! As per BBC News, this is India’s only Earth Resort and possibly one of the largest of its kind in Asia. This resort has been featured on both domestic and international media including Lonely Planet.
We travelled to Banasura Hill Resort in March this year and the roads leading to the resort were decent and there is ample place for car parking.
The majestic Banasura Hill provides an amazing backdrop of the resort.
The resort is spread across a wide area of 35 acres and is very well maintained. It has a Swimming Pool, Badminton Court and some indoor games as well. There are different kinds of Rooms and Cottages to choose from.
We stayed in the Earth Room and it was really a unique experience. Since the walls are made of mud, the rooms stay comfortably cool all the time.
The food in the restaurant is pretty good, though options are less.
Within the resort there is a rock that resembles to an elephant and there is also a viewpoint to watch the Banasura Hill from close.
They also offer walking tour to the Coffee and Tea Plantations and also to some nearby streams and viewpoints.
Overall, this resort is certainly worth a visit if you are looking for a calming getaway from the city life and want to stay in a very different kind of resort offering amazing views of the Banasura Hill.
