Bangalore is the ‘Pub Capital’ of India and throughout the city there are a large number of Pubs. Over the past few years Microbreweries have dominated the pub scene here. Most of these Pubs have great ambience, good service and decent food.
In this article, we will list down some lesser known pubs in Bangalore serving awesome food.
The Druid Garden: This Micro-brewery in North Bangalore has become very popular these days. This has a garden like feel and has a wide collection of craft beers and cocktails. Giant screens add to the ambience and is a good place to hangout for the sports enthusiasts. It gets crowded in the weekend and hence, prior reservation is recommended. Stir-Fried Chilli Basil Pork and Peri Peri Dry Chicken Wings are very good.
Watsons: There are quite a few branches of Watsons spread across the city. The ambience of Watsons is rustic. They don’t serve craft beer but they do have quite a large liquor options. The food here is just excellent. Watsons Pork Pepper Fry and Karwari Prawn is pretty good.
The Permit Room: Located in the heart of the city, close to M.G. Road and right opposite Garuda Mall is The Permit Room. They have the same management as Toit and this is the ideal place for Comfort Food. The ambience is brilliant; wacky paintings, funny posters and great view makes this place, one of our favourite hangouts in Bangalore. Most of their food are South Indian with a twist and almost all of them are very good. Gongura Chicken Winglets, Kane West and Goan Prawn Cocktail are the ones to die for. This is not a microbrewery, but they do serve craft beers and interesting cocktails (e.g. Paati’s Magic Rasam – A Whiskey based cocktail).
Salt: Salt is located in the Forum Mall, Koramangala and VR Mall. The ambience here is nice and relaxed and the service is pretty good. BBQ Butter Chicken Lollipops is an interesting dish and is worth a try.
Due to the present situation, do check with these pubs if they are open before visiting and if prior reservation is necessary if they are open.
