I wanted to do Funky hair colours like Blue or Purple for really long time. However, at the same time I didn’t want to spend too much money on that. Reason, I have done vibrant red earlier from a professional hair salon spending lots of money and the colour didn’t stay long ☹.
So, finally (after sparing too much thought whether to colour my hair or not) I bought this Streax Ultralights Gem Collection Highlighting Kit in shade of Purple Topaz.
Unlike my many other reviews – where I use the products for quite a while before providing my insight, this Product I have used it for the first time.
However, I did not want to wait too long to review this Product for only reason – Colouring my hair is not a process which I will go through often unlike many other products, hence there is a high possibility I might forget my take on this Product. Hence, I want to share my experience when it is still fresh in my mind.
Cost: MRP is 160 Indian Rupees. (MRP, as mentioned on the product when I purchased.)
Description: As I have mentioned earlier, I bought Streax Ultralights Gem Collection Highlighting Kit in shade of Purple Topaz. One unit of this Highlighting Kit contains Blonder Powder, Developer, Colourant Cream, 2 Applicators/ Brushes, Information Leaflet, 2 Conditioner Pouches, Gloves.
Also, the Cover/ Box contains information like How to Use, Product Information etc.
How Did I use this Product: I followed the steps which are mentioned on the Cover/ Box.
I wanted to achieve Ombre look, so it took me 2 units of Highlighting Kit to attempt the desired look.
The Step-1 is Lightening/ Blonding Hair and Preparing it for the Colour. The Photo below shows my hair Prior and Post completing Step-1.
Step-2 is Colouring the Lightened hair, The Photo below shows my hair after completing Step-2 and taken in Room light, Daylight and Flashlight.
My Overall Experience about this Product:
As of now, I have washed my hair twice which includes the first wash immediately after completing Step-2. Hence, I will be sharing my insights based on my experience so far.
Quality of the Product is good. Though, I have not done anything extra apart from regular shampoo and conditioning, my hair doesn’t feel dull or rough.
Also, there has been No transfer of colour from hair to my clothes, which I am really happy about.
As you have seen in the above photos the result of the Step-1 (Lightening/ Blonding hair) was really good. However, the result of the Step-2 (Colouring the Lightened hair) is moderate-few of the hair strands are really Purple, however few of them has turned Brown. Immediately after wash, my hair looked black, however as I started to dry it the Purple colour started to show up 😊
Also, I must mention at this point – though the pattern didn’t turn out exactly the way I wanted, still it is looking fine.
At the time of second wash few more colour got washed out, however I can see those Purple hair strands are still looking Purple 😊. The photo below is taken after second wash.
Other Comments:
Based on my past experience these vibrant colours don’t stay that long. Hence, I have not taken Longevity of this Product into consideration while doing this review.
I feel each Shade as well as Colour develops/ turn out differently with different hair type. Hence, if you are using this Shade it might not look exactly the same as you can see in my above photos.
