Few Romantic Movies on Netflix

Few Romantic Movies on Netflix

Co-Author: Soumyadip Ray

Life as We Know It: This is a story of 2 very different people (acted by Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel) who hated each other. But when their friends (Infant’s parents) died in a car accident they had to be the joint Guardians of the infant. While taking care of the baby, their relationship evolves and also goes through different challenges. This movie is fast paced romantic and also has a hint of cuteness with an adorable infant being the centre of all the drama. This movie was released in 2010 and had a successful run in the Box Office.

Catch and Release: Unlike many other romantic movies, the story of this movie starts with a voice-over of a lady (acted by Jennifer Garner), who is attending her fiancé’s funeral. Soon after her fiancé’s death, she slowly discovers many unknown facts about her deceased loved one. Amongst all these revelations, she starts to wonder whether she actually knew the person whom she was getting married to. Meantime, while facing all these unforeseen events she also meets a guy with whom she can emotionally connect. This movie is not ‘typical romantic’ projecting only unidirectional romanticism of lead characters. There are few other characters and their relationships also evolves as the movie unfolds. If you want to watch a different romantic movie you may give this one a try.

Love Happens: Aaron Eckhart plays a self-help Guru and a successful author who helps people in overcoming grief. He himself suffers from a tragedy where he lost his wife in a car crash. The movie revolves on how he helps people in seminars. At the same time, how he faces his own grief and Jennifer Aniston, who plays a florist helps him in the process. It is refreshing to watch Jennifer Aniston’s acting, which is different from her other movies. This movie isn’t a brilliant one, however, if you are looking for a romantic movie out of the usual line, this is the one.

Wedding Crashers: When you have Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn in one movie, you expect it to be a slapstick comedy. The movie starts in that fashion where Owen and Vince crashes weddings in order to attract women. However, things soon move completely to a romantic side when Owen falls in love with Rachel McAdams. The movie is pacy and has all the elements of a good romantic movie. This was a pretty big hit in 2005.

Aloha: As the name suggests, the movie in set in Hawaii and has amazing locations. This is romantic triangle with Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone and Rachel McAdams. The movie shows a lot of potential in the beginning and tries to be wacky at times, however, gets confused on whether is would be a wacky comedy or a complete romantic movie. This is a one-time watch, and since you don’t need to pay anything extra, I would suggest you to watch it if you love Comedies, Romedies or Exotic Locales. 😊

All these movies are available in Netflix, however, some of them might not be available in some countries.
